What you will love about this home

Built in 1889 this old victorian terrace is one of the oldest houses in Rozelle and represents the area perfectly. Inside we have updated this terrace to retain it's original features but ensured it has everything for a growing family. An open plan downstairs double living area the large eat in kitchen leads out to a covered wooden deck. Beyond the deck a grass and patio garden is completed with a chicken coupe and a couple of pet chickens for fresh morning eggs.

Upstairs three light bedrooms with plenty of built in cupboard space. While the larger front bedroom has a balcony out over the street we have given this to the children due to the beautiful large patio leading off the back bedroom. Large folding doors open out onto a large balcony. Perfect for sitting out on with a glass of wine in the evening.

While our home has all the comforts required the key attraction to living in Rozelle is being so close to the city and the local amenities. Even without being in the city in less than 10mins there is everything you could need within a 5 min walk from shops, markets and cafe's to swimming pools and parks. For many local people living in Sydney, Rozelle and Balmain (the neighbouring suburb) are regular weekend destinations.

What you will love in the neighborhood

Sydney CBD:
We are situated less than 5km (3miles) from Sydney's city centre and all of Sydney's major attractions (Opera House, Darling Harbour, aquarium, zoo etc) in the city's inner west suburb of Rozelle. The city is easily accessible by bus from the stop at the end of the road (run every 5 mins into the city and take 8-10mins) or by foot over the Anzac Bridge past the famous Sydney fish markets

One of the oldest suburbs in Sydney Rozelle is a popular weekend destination for Sydneysiders due to the markets held every Saturday and Sunday and the local high street called Darling Street. All of which are less than 2 mins walk from the front door. There is also a fresh food farmers market held on Saturday's in the neighbouring suburb of Lilyfield which is a 15min walk or bus ride away.

Food and drink:
Darling Street (at the top of our road) runs through Rozelle and down into the next suburb Balmain. The road has an extensive range of restaurants and cafes that spill out onto the paths in the evening making it a great location to eat and soak up the atmosphere.
During the day Sydney is well know for it's coffee and Rozelle has hundreds of small coffee shops and bakery's to try including the french La Bancsz which situated at the top of our road.
Rozelle is also home to many of Sydney's oldest pubs making it a great evening destination for many people living in Sydney. There is a great variety with the majority also serving food ranging from bar food through to award winning higher end restaurants.

2min walk - Darling street contains everything from local supermarket, butchers, green grocers, clothes shops to a wide range of restaurants and cafe's to suit everyones tastes.
10mins walk/2min bus - is Birkenhead Point, Sydney's largest discount retail outlet centre which includes all the leading fashion and sportswear stores (Nike, Hugo Boss, Levi etc) along with major supermarkets Aldi and Coles.
40min walk/10min bus - Sydney city centre for all major high street shops

We are fortunate to live right next to 'the bay run' which is a 7km/4.5mile loop around the waters edge. With cycle and walking/running path all the way around this is a popular flat traffic free route for anytime of the day. It's a perfect 8km/5mile route from the front door.

We are in walking distance of three swimming pools. Leichhardt aquatic centre has 4 pools (outdoor and indoor) along with a gym and a range of fitness classes. Drummoyne pool on the bay run is a salt water outdoor olympic pool and in Balmain there is the Dawn Frazer Baths, the oldest swimming baths in Australia which is set into the harbour.

For those into yoga we have a fantastic studio at the top of the road

From Rozelle you can catch a bus that go directly to Coogee on Sydney's eastern beaches. From here you can walk the beautiful coastal walk from Coogee to Bondi Beach taking in lots of different beaches on the way. Alternatively by car we are only 20mins away from any one of the many famous beaches Sydney has to offer.
