Additional information

About the House:
Built in 1992, ours is a large family home with near-wrap-around verandas that take in beautiful ocean views. The house has living areas on two levels. The top floor comprises of the main bathroom with shower, bath and separate toilet, a study with wireless internet and printer (a pc can be set up if required), a nursery with a cot that can be converted to a toddler bed, the main (Queen) bedroom with ensuite, large kitchen with gas cooktop, electric oven and dishwasher, an 8-seater dining room and lounge room with reclining lounges, large plasma TV, stereo, dvd and plenty of books! The lounge and dining open out onto large entertaining deck with 10-seater alfresco dining and bbq. Downstairs is home to a second queen bedroom, and a second living area with a small tv, small gym, kitchenette, a lounge that can be converted to a very comfortable double bed, and access to another large covered deck. There is also a toilet on this floor but it is part of an ongoing addition to the house so at present it only has a curtain for privacy. The laundry is downstairs in the double garage and is equipped with washer and dryer. Both upstairs bedrooms have access to the front veranda overlooking the garden and the street and there is a large fenced back lawn the downstairs living area.
Would consider a car swap. We have a 4x4 Toyota Prado (7-seats) and a Honda CRV.
Pets by negotiation.
We have a sweet-natured and very active Kelpie x Staffy named indi. She loves kids and would love to stay home with someone who would feed and walk her while her family are away, but she would be equally happy to live it up with the other dogs at the puppy motel if dogs aren't your thing.

About the location:
Lennox Head is a small coastal village on the Northern NSW coast 2hrs south of Brisbane, 1 hour from the Gold Coast and just 20 minutes from the eclectic cultural hub of Byron Bay. The seaside hamlet is flanked by white sandy beaches to the east and the rolling green hills of the hinterland farms and rainforests, which is dotted with more lovely villages that are great for arts, boutique shopping, dining and people watching.

The township itself has no major chain stores, but is well equipped with a great butcher, bakery, fruit and veg store, convenience store, a small IGA, newsagent, video store, and pharmacy. There is a pub and plenty of great restaurants and cafes to chose from, as well as boutique shopping, a small public library, gym, service station, aquatic centre (just out of town), skate park, oval, medical centre, osteopath, physio, hairdressers, beauticians and day spas. Best of all, you'll always be met with a friendly smile in this happy little community. If you do need anything more, the township of Ballina is just 10km south and has most of the major food and department stores, and a cinema.
If you're looking for adventure, paddle out at Lennox Head point break to spend some time with the local pod of dolphins or take a lesson on Seven Mile Beach with one of the surf schools that come down from Byron Bay. Hire a stand-up paddle board and take the kids swimming at the beautiful Lake Ainsworth across from the beach at the end of the main street. Of if the sea breeze is in, kite-surfing at seven mile or paragliding off the headland are popular options. Or you can take a walk along the coast or a hike through rainforest in the national parks. There's also fishing, scuba diving or horse rides along the beach, kayaking in local rivers and hot air ballooning.
There is plenty of family entertainment too, with swimming at the lake and Seven Mile beach, mini golf and petting zoo at Macadamia Castle, catch a movie or experience the waterslides in Ballina or get lost for hours at AmazinPlace nearby. We are also just an hour south of all the theme parks of the Gold Coast.
If you're more spiritually minded, take a yoga class any day of the week at a number of different venues, join a drumming circle in Byron Bay or visit the Crystal Castle for meditation, aura photography and a peaceful walk around the gardens.
There is a large arts community in the region and local work is on sale in Lennox Head, Byron Bay and the surrounding towns. The markets held in the region each Sunday are a great place to pick up a local creation and there are some great regional galleries to explore.
But if you're really just looking for a chilled sea change, then come home to enjoy lunches on the deck , relax with a good book or just kick back with a glass of wine and watch the whales frolicking as they follow their migratory path past Boulders Beach.

About us:
We are a young family (early thirties) who love to travel. I am psychology student and stay-at-home mum to 11-week-old Evie (and our darling dog, Indi), and Joel is a Diesel Mechanic working in the mining industry.
Joel is a keen surfer and I was looking for a career change and a slower pace of life to start a family, so we made the big move from Perth to the idyllic village of Lennox Head in February 2013 after falling in love with the area on a trip around Australia a few years earlier.
We have both travelled the world as singles and most of Australia as a couple, but now that we are three, camping, even 'glamping', is a little harder. So we want to offer our home by the sea to like-minded travellers as a means of further exploring Australia and eventually the world.
We are hoping to secure our first house-swap when we head home to Perth for a wedding in April. Somewhat flexible on dates so if you're in Perth and would like to get away for Easter please contact us!
