<p>Our house is situated on very private 21 acres of mostly forested property with a creek, 2 km from paved road. Access gravel road and the driveway is regularly serviced and it is used by regular 2WD passenger vehicles.</p><p><b> Household: </b> <li> Our house has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms but only 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms will be accessible </li><li> Absolutely NO SMOKING and NO DRUGS inside the house or anywhere on our property </li><li> There is no carpeting in the house and we have no pets living inside the house. Please, no pets or strong perfumes in our home, our grandson is visiting regularly and he has strong allergic reactions </li><li> There is no mobile phone signal/service in Burton area. We have telephone land line. Our Internet is via 2-way satellite (slow, but usable for basics - e-mail, searches, etc.)</li><li> There is no radio signal and TV in our household, but we have a DVD player, projector & screen </li></p><p><b>Our property is frequented by wild animals, including bears. So far, they did not devoured any guests, but that is because all visitors took time to learn the basics how to act in the ``bear country``. For your own sake, do the same before you arrive in our place.</b></p>

<p>Our house is in Burton, in the central part of Arrow Lakes area, Kootenay region in British Columbia, and the exchange to this location will appeal the most to people seeking outdoor activities or just wish to slow down, turn off the cell phone and take a rest. </p><p>Burton (pop. approximately 300) is very small community with virtually no services (no gas, no store), just tiny post office. That means there are no clubs, pubs, restaurants, cinemas, bowling, music/dance halls or any other city-life goodies. </p><p>Fauquier (pop. approximately 400) is 22km SOUTH from Burton and it has gas station and small corner store. </p><p>Nakusp (pop. approximately 1600) is 45km NORTH from Burton and it has all basic services, including gas and well stoked store. </p><p>This region is perhaps the most know for its hot springs (developed and undeveloped), hiking, fishing, camping, heli-skying, wildlife. </p><p>Consider this exchange only if you are an independent, outdoor oriented and if you enjoy and respect country lifestyle. </p><p><b>Keep in your mind that you can't get here or to be here without a car. </b>
