My luxury south facing penthouse apartment is right on the beach with spectacular views of the sea and mountains. It has its own private entrance and a secluded balcony with barbecue for sunbathing,
eating and relaxing. The master bedroom has a double bed and ensuite bathroom with toilet, shower and bath. The second bedroom has a Queen size bed and the separate main bathroom has a toilet, shower
and bath. The modern kitchen has a large fridge, electric cooker, dishwasher and large island and counters for food preparation. The open plan living space has a dining area with large hand crafted
oval table easily seating six people. The large hexagonal living room has floor to ceiling windows offering views of the sea and mountains and opening onto the balcony. There is a cosy gas fireplace
and comfortable furnishings. There is cable television and Wi fi. Sit in the living room and watch bald eagles flying past- they nest in a tree behind my apartment. Watch the deer come down to the
beach to drink, the seals playing and see the herons fishing at low tide. Enjoy the sunset from the balcony and wake up to the sound of the ocean. Walk along the beach to the marina at Comox and
beyond to historic Filberg Lodge and Park and Mac Laing Nature Park and Goose Spit. A wide variety of sea and shorebirds birds live in the neighborhood so it is an excellent spot for bird watching.
Take a bike ride along the bike trails. A kayak and bicycle is available for use. A car exchange can be arranged. I have a Toyota Prius car. The Comox Valley is on the east coast of Vancouver Island
easily accessed by plane from Vancouver - half an hour, or by ferry and road from the mainland. It comprises the villages of Comox and Cumberland and the small town of Courtenay. The valley is
culturally very rich. It is home to many artists and craftspeople, many who open their studios to the public and there are a variety of art and craft galleries and shops. The valley is home of the
Elasmosauras a dinosaur that has been re constructed in the Courtenay museum, There is a vibrant and active First Nations community offering many activities, events and exhibitions. Three Community
Centers plus private studios offer a huge range of classes and activities including, yoga, theatre, tai Chi, a variety of dance classes, martial arts, art, craft, cooking and more. Comox is a
charming village 20 mins walk or 4 minutes drive away to the centre of the village from the apartment. Here you will find shops, post office, theatre, restaurants, banks, cafes, gym, a marina and
dock. A five minute drive away is Courtenay a small town on the river with lots of shopping opportunities, restaurants, gyms, cafes, bars, galleries, museum, farmers market and a theatre. A 20 minute
drive away is the historic village of Cumberland which in former times was a coal mining town with a large, vibrant Chinese and Japanese community. A very interesting museum has relics, photographs,
memorabilia and a working replica of the coal mines. The valley has beautiful countryside, beaches parks and rivers. It is a nature lovers paradise and offers excellent opportunities for bird
watching, whalewatching trips, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, swimming, mountain biking, walking and hiking. Mount Washington, in winter a world class ski resort, half an hour drive away,
offers spring and summer hiking and spectacular views of the coast and mainland mountain range. The chairlift operates year round to take visitors to the peak. It is ideally situated in the centre of
Vancouver Island for trips to the West Coast where magnificent stretches of sandy beaches offer world class surfing on the Pacific Ocean. Here you can see Grey whales, porpoise and sea lions playing,

Gulf Islands islands close by, accessible by car and ferry. Only a three hour drive away is our beautiful provincial capital, Victoria which is well worth a visit. A kayak and bicycle is available
