What you will love about this home

Our home is approxmately 20 years old and has a recently renovated kitchen and master bathroom, air conditioning, spacious back yard with trampoline for kids, upper deck for an evening glass of wine, morning coffee, and family barbecues. The master bedroom has a king size bed. The second bedroom has a double bed and the third bedroom has a single loft bed with a build in desk below. We also have a den which we use as a bedroom that is equipped with a single bed. In addition, we have two single mattresses which you may use for extra sleep options on the floor of the loft bedroom, den or family room.

There is an apartment (suite) on the main floor at the back of the house which is not a part of these accommodations, but it is used for storage or my husband while we are travelling without him (he will join us for most of our travels).

What you will love in the neighborhood

Our house is located in the small city of Pitt Meadows, which has a population of about 18,000 people and has a large agricultural area along the Pitt and Fraser rivers. While it has a small town feel, it is one of many large suburbs outside of Vancouver (our neighbours, Maple Ridge, Port Coquitlam and Coquitlam have over 250,000 residents), We are located about 45 minutes by car or train from downtown Vancouver for those looking for a spacious way to live near the heart of the city. Whistler, another Canadian Olympic venue, is about two hours north of Vancouver so is also easily accessed for fantastic mountain activities.

More locally, we live 10 minutes away from the lazy Alouette River which is perfect for family kayak trips (we have kayaks you can use). We are only 20 minutes from Pitt Lake which is popular for all kinds of boating. We are only 20 minutes from Golden Ears Provincial Park and Buntzen Lake, two spectacular mountain lakes perfect for hiking, camping, boating and swimming. In town, there is a charming area called Osprey Village nestled on the Fraser River with charming coffee shops, a creperie, flower shop and artists' space - a great place for a walk along the river. We have great cycling paths and running trails along the many dykes of our area (a five km loop runs from our house, near the airport, along the river and back home).
