2017 is a very big year in Ottawa. It is Canada's 150 anniversary as a country and as the capital city there is a lot of fantastic stuff planned for our city, Ottawa.
Our apartment is close to the canal, lot's of greenspace and parks, and all right downtown in the heart of the city.
Three National museums, the National Art Gallery, and the The National Performing Arts Centre all within easy walking distance
Ottawa is one of the safest cities of it's size (about 1 million people) in the world. We're within walking distance of everything and we do walk everywhere. You can feel totally safe walking in Ottawa anytime of the night or day. We're within walking distance to more than 100 restaurants, the ByWard Market for nightlife, Lansdowne Park for sporting events, Parliament Hill and most other National Institutions.
Ottawa has more than 200 km of bike paths connecting across the city and extending out into the picturesque Gatineau Hill. Much of these paths are along the Rideau canal Waterway and the Ottawa and Rideau rivers. Ottawa's river-fronts have not been developed and all remain naturalized even in the downtown of the city.
FOR WINTER ENTHUSIASTS... this is the place to be. World's largest skating rink (10km) is literally outside our door. A 50 meter walk to one of the world's most famous winter attractions.
Hundreds of miles of groomed cross-country skiing trails are within a few minutes drive. Six great downhill ski resorts with a 30-60 minute drive; and central to three internationally renowned ski resorts -- Mont Tremblant, Stowe VT, and Lake Placid (all within a 4hour drive).
