Little house on the Prairie: there is a garden, space and nature
Pt. Townsend is a beautiful, small, friendly town with lots of art, music, dance, and festivals. It's the home of Centrum, the state arts organization. It has many shops, 2 cinemas, a farmers market, and fine restaurants. Located where the Straits of Juan de Fuca meet Puget Sound, it's a lively port and home to the Wooden Boat School, Wooden Boat Festival, and a Marine Science Center. It's an hour's drive, plus a half hour ferry ride to Seattle, 2 hours more to Vancouver, an hour's drive with a longer ferry to Victoria and Vancouver Island. The Pacific Ocean beaches are a few hours away, and there are numerous hiking possibilities nearby, including the snow-capped Olympics.
