What you will love about this home

Our wonderful family apartment is typical of the working-class areas of Bordeaux – now extremely popular –, just a few feet away from the city centre and various means of transport.
Its private entrance gives the apartment a house-like atmosphere, cosy and sunny, and disconnected from the street.
It is a charming and large apartment (125m2) that we slowly refurbish. We took great care to decorate it and we gradually modified it after the birth of our children.

The heart of our apartment is a large room built as an open space, bathed in sunlight, with a well-equipped kitchen, a table big enough for 6/8 people, and a living room which opens on a large sunny terrace. There is an attic above the room where the children can watch films and where our guests can sleep on a double bed.
The other part of the apartment is more intimate. There is a toilet, a bright bathroom (bathtub and a second toilet) and the children’s bedrooms, each full of toys and books. They each have their bedrooms (one with a single-bed, one with a small bed for a child and the third with a bed for a baby).
A steep staircase leads to an office and our bedroom (double bed) which overlooks gardens and rooftops. We thought of locking one of the rooms in which we would put our stuff to offer you more room. The one that will be locked will depend on your needs.

What you will love in the neighborhood

We live in the centre of Bordeaux, very near the “Place de la Victoire” where you can catch the tram (5 min to the historical centre) and all the city buses (10 min to the train station, 45 min to the airport). There is a small supermarket at the corner of our street, which is extremely useful to do a quick grocery shopping (24/7) and a bus which takes you to the art museum “la galerie des beaux-arts” and to the beautiful public park (children’s playground, majestic trees, sunny cafés). However, we usually simply walk everywhere or use our bikes. Eating well is part of the culture of Bordeaux. We go every weekend to the famous market, “le marché des capuchins”, like all the residents of Bordeaux, to do our shopping (fresh items: fruits, veggies, meat, fish, etc), and also to enjoy some oysters with a glass of wine. It will be our pleasure to give you the names of the restaurants we love – inexpensive ones and gourmet restaurants.

Bordeaux is a splendid city, a UNESCO World Heritage City, where there is a lot to do (museums, tours) and to see (walk around the historical parts of town, the façade of the quays, the water mirror). There are vineyards and wineries all around, and renowned châteaux such as the lovely village of Saint-Émilion.
We are also lucky enough to be only one hour away from the most sumptuous beaches of the Atlantic, the Arcachon Bay (Dune of Pilat, Cap Ferret…) and large lakes.
A little farther away, you can visit other wonderful regions, such as the Dordogne, with its unique prehistorical caves, or the Basque Country.

Additional information

In short, we love the life we live in Bordeaux, made of sun, diners with friends, bike rides and long weekends away when we need a change of scenery.
