What your guests will love about your home
You will notice we live in a Hotel Particulier built in 1830. Your beautiful very light spacious room is on the 3rd floor and overlooks overlooks a private 1500 M² garden. We have a brand new extremely comfortable double bed, a pull down double bed, another double bed and an additional single futon for a child is also available. You can separate yourself from the rest of the house by two doors and of course you have your own private bathroom in this section of the house. We are non smokers and keep a very clean dust free house. The house is well heated and we have an additional open fireplace upstairs in the middle space communal lounge keeping the house nice and cosy. We live in an absolutely beautiful village 2min walk to the grocery store, pharmacy and bakery. We love our house and so do our guests! We have the best of all worlds here with clean air, lots of space and typical French village feel you cannot find in Paris. It only takes half an hour to get into Paris to work or spend the day sight seeing and shopping. The trip into Paris each day is very simple with a direct train taking you to La Defense or Saint Lazare. It is very simple to get to us via public transport from CDG , Orly or any of the Paris Train stations. If you have alot of luggage we recommend a private car service (that we often use ) that can bring you to our door from as little as 60 euros. l’Etang-la-Ville is a small village of only 4,500 inhabitants, situated in the most privileged suburbs of Paris, right next to Paris, on the West side, an area once chosen by King Louis XIV to build his palace in Versailles, which was then the capital of France, and another castle in Marly-le-Roi, next to l’Etang-la-ville, as a place of retreat. France is divided into a number of regions. Each region contains a certain number of departments. A bit like states and counties in the United States. l’Etang-la-ville is in the region of Ile-de-France, like Paris, Saint Germain en Laye, Versailles, Rambouillet, Boulogne, Vincennes, and the dozens of other historical cities which makes Ile-de-France the richest region of France, both historically and culturally. l’Etang-la-ville is in the department of Les Yvelynes. It is literally next to Saint-Germain-en-Laye and Versailles. The air is so pure and the atmosphere so peaceful in l’Etang-la-ville, that you would never think you were this close to civilization, or actually at the heart of it. Somehow, l’Etang-la-Ville has managed to remain the same quiet and beautiful village that inspired almost every impressionist and post-impressionist artists in the late 1890’s, like Vuillard and Bonnard, who chose l’Etang-la-Ville as their home.
