The apartment is right in the centre of this beautiful small city but very quiet due to its 4th floor location (no lift). It has the advantage of dual aspect views of the Canal de la Robine, one of its locks and the foothills of the Pyrenees on one side and the cathedral, its beautiful garden and main city square on the other. The famous Halles de Narbonne is just a 5-minute stroll along the banks of the canal and is one of the best covered markets in this part of France, with a wide selection of fresh local produce, places to eat and wonderful ambiance. All the attractions of Narbonne are close at hand, with many shops, restaurants, bars and city centre activities and events within easy walking distance.

The fabulous beaches of Narbonne Plage and Gruissan Plage are just a 20-minute drive away. Narbonne is well known for its access to leisure activities such as, walking, hiking, cycling, swimming, wind-surfing, skiing, golf, tennis, etc
There are also many cultural and entertainment venues, including dance halls, clubs, theatre, multiplex cinema, bowling, ice rink and even a bridge club.
Narbonne has much historical and cultural interest. It is well located for visiting the villages, towns and beautiful countryside of this famous wine-growing region and ideal for mountain and beach lovers alike. The Spanish border and the Costa Brava are only an hour's drive for those who want to venture further afield. Barcelona is 2.5 hrs by car, Toulouse 1.5 hrs and Montpellier just 1 hr.
The apartment is habitable now but with with love and attention could be modernised into an even more desirable home... planned for some time in the future. For the time being, it is a simple but ideal base for a holiday in this part of the South of France.
Although the stairs are shallow, we would like to emphasise that the apartment (at its 4th Floor location) may be difficult to access for those with mobility concerns or babies.
Due to the relatively large size of the apartment, it is hard work for guests or us to clean it. WE EMPLOY A HOUSEKEEPER FOR 50 EUROS FOR CLEANING, ETC AND ASK GUESTS TO REIMBURSE THIS SUM TO US.
