A small paradise: removed from the world, it’s a place to simply be happy
Whanganui is a small(40,000 people) city on the west coast of the North Island. It is built on the banks of the Whanganui River. We have a very active artistic community, a fabulous art gallery, museum, cafes, bars, walks, cycling, golf, fishing, jetboating and tramping in or close to the city The Turoa skifield is 90 minutes drive away. Whanganui National Park is nearby. Lake Taupo is a two hour drive, as are the vineyards of Hawkes Bay. The capital, Wellington, is within a three hour drive.
We live in a leafy, elevated suburb with lovely walks, 5 mins by car from the CBD.
