Johannesburg is the cultural hub and gateway to the rest of South Africa
Our home in Johannesburg (Auckland Park) is next to the bohemian village of Melville, a trendy mix of residential and commercial properties. Full of restaurants, eclectic shops, popular coffee shops, THE BEST BOOK SHOPS and bars. The house is nearly 100 years old and has all the mod-cons that you can think off (no swimming pool, but lots of outside seating and great barbeque areas). We also have a seperate home office with fast WiFi - should you need. Johannesburg is the largest man-made forest in the world and the gateway to into South Africa. It is centrally located and some of Jo'Burgs attractions include fabulous shopping, excellent restaurants, the usual big city attractions and lots of great golf courses.
Special museums (Apartheid museum, Origins centre, Maropeng Cradle of human kind)
Cultural attractions (Cultural Dancing, township tours, Museum Africa),
Outdoors attractions (Lion Parks, Cheetah and Rhino Sanctuares, Zoo, 2 Botanical gardens, Caves, Stone-age sites, Bush baby and Monkey sanctuaries)
Johannesburg is a 4 hour drive (or quick flight) to the Kruger Park, and a 2 hour drive to Sun City and Pilanesburg (also a fantastic big 5 game reserve)
