Chantelle & wayne has described his/her home in English.

What you will love about this home

Our second home is a modern yet subtle farm style Villa on Felicita Farm which is a 100 hectare private reserve, with an abundance of wild fauna and flora.
The Villa is over 200 square meters with double volume wooded beam ceilings, with 3 comfortably laid out bedrooms, the main bedroom having its en-suite with a lovely bath cum shower while the second bathroom is comfortably sized with a shower.
The spacious living area with subtle decor gives a feeling of warmth and comfort. It boasts a lovely sized family dining table, comfy couches to watch satellite TV or lounge in front of the inside wood fired fireplace which is perfect especially for colder days.
The fully equipped kitchen will add the feeling of being "home away from home" with all the necessities when it comes to cooking up a good meal.
And we are very proud to say that the whole property is GREEN and ECO Friendly as it is completely self sufficient with solar power and natural spring water.

What you will love in the neighborhood

No immediate neighbors to the Villa which makes it completely private. The surroundings are incredibly peaceful and one can hear the crashing waves of the sea in the distance and not to mention the roars of the lions on the neighboring farm from the Big Cat Sanctuary, “Panthera Africa”, which can be visited.

The Villa is a mere 15min drive to the Village of Stanford. In and around the Village there are a variety of lovely restaurants, wine farms, art galleries, a cheese factory, a micro brewery, beautiful blue flag swimming beaches and lots of shops.

Other more adventurous activities can include a boat cruise out on the Stanford river, whale watching and shark cage diving.
Cape Town city is a quick and easy 01h30 drive.

Additional information

This might be a lot of info - but hopefully it will help to make it easier for your trip to South Africa.
Things to do: The south of South Africa

First of all – fly into Cape Town International, rent a car and take a scenic drive (1.5hour) and come check in at Villa Felicita, 10min just outside the beautiful village of Stanford.
Once settled in, there are plenty to see and do.

Stanford is nicely located in the middle of the coastal region of the Western Cape.

To the west there is the Mother City – Cape Town and surrounds.
And to the east there is the Overberg and Garden Route.

Top things to do in and around Cape Town:
You have to visit Table Mountain.
Check the weather – maybe call before booking tickets

2 Oceans Aquarium
Recommend to buy tickets online – cut the queues

V&A Waterfront (Walking distance from Aquarium)
Lots of shops
Hand craft markets
Lots of good restaurants

Robben Island boat trips and museum tours (depart from the V&A waterfront)
or just a nice cruise in the Cape Town bay

Take a drive around the cape peninsula passing by Sea Point, Camps Bay all the way to Cape Point Nature reserve.

A bit more inland you can visit Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek, renowned for its fantastic wines farms, monuments and history.
And for the more adventurous there is Ziplining – well recommended.

This is all reachable within 1-2 hours drive from Stanford.

A mere 20min drive can get you to Hermanus or Gansbaai:

Whale watching from the edge of the cliffs while enjoying a lovely lunch at one of the many restaurants on the seafront.
Shops to stock up supplies and to snoop around in are plenty, including craft markets.
The Hemel & Aarde Valley is also worth taking a drive through as it has some of the top wine estates. Wine tasting, food paring and beautiful view.

Outdoor activities of all sorts can be arranged.

With beautiful beaches to choose from you can join in the summer fun for a swim or just for that perfect sunset walk on the sand.

In the quaint Fishermans village of Gansbaai the harbour is like a painted picture with all the fisher boats against the back drop of the sea where you will also be able to buy some fresh fish for a braai.
Just 5min outside the town you will find Kleinbaai. The Penguin and Seabird sanctuary is one of the local attractions.
You can even join in with feeding time.

Or check out some of the more adventurous activities offered like a horse ride out on the beach or shark cage diving.

It’s a must to go to the Saturday mornings Stanford Market from 09:00-12:00
A good time to walk the streets of town and see the locals out and about.
Enjoy the quaint streets and little shops.
Stop in and relax at one of the many coffee shops.

Do a river cruise, enjoy the scenery, braai (BBQ) some lunch and have a swim in the river.

Take the ‘wandelpad’ walking trail all along the Kleinrivier River and through the town.

Make a short drive to Kleinrivier Cheese farm - one of the top cheese makers in the country.
Do cheese tasting with local wines or have a picnic basket made up and enjoy it under the big trees.
Petting farm and playground for kids.

A guided tour at Panthera Africa - the big cat sanctuary on the farm next to our property is a MUST DO.
Call and book in advance.

They do amazing work and it is great to have them so close that we can hear the roars of the lions every day.

Heading EAST of Stanford you will find yourself in the heart of the Overberg region. With small quaint little towns like Napier, Bredarsdorp, Cape L’Agulas (most southern point of Africa), Riviersonderend and Caledon that can be enjoyed as day trips from Villa Felicita.
Keep going east you will find the 2N national motorway that can be travelled with all along up to the East Coast (Durban).
But that is a bit of a crazy long way by car :-) easier to fly.

On route here you can find within about 3 hours drive Mossel Bay and the Garden Route which is George, Wilderness, Sedgefield, Knysna and Plettenberg Bay.
All beautiful places to see and very do able in a trip of 3-5 days.

Plettenberg Bay (PLETT as it is referred to by locals) hosts one of our National Parks that can be visited and experience the African big 5.

And this is just a fraction of what our beautiful vast country has got to offer :-)
We hope that these tips could assist in your planning and decision making.
