What you will love about this home

Plettenberg Bay or Plett, as it is locally known , is South Africa’s premier holiday resort. It lies in the heart of the Garden Route, about 550 km east of Cape Town. Access by plane is easy - there
are several direct daily flights from Johannesburg International Airport to George Airport 87 km away (60miles). Transfers can be arranged and if need be we can leave the car at the airport with a
good map to our house. The Presidents cup was played at Fancourt in George in November 2003. This area is famous for its beautiful golf courses and there is at least six world-class golf courses all
within an hours drive from our home. One is less than 5 km from the house. Plett is surrounded by the spectacular Tsitsikama mountains covered in rain forest. It has some of the best swimming and
surfing beaches in the world. Within five minutes drive is the Keurbooms River Lagoon which stretches for about six kilometres before it turns into a steep-sided valley which is also a nature
reserve. The lagoon is ideal for wind-surfing, boat fishing etc. The bay itself is a whale sanctuary, and from July to October it is one of the best places in the world to watch whales - if you go on
a whale-spotting boat, the Southern right whales come right up to the boat. The bay is also full of dolphins and seals. The whole area is a bird-watchers’ paradise. Enclosing the bay is the Robberg
Peninsula, a magnificent nature reserve with wonderful hiking trails. In fact, if you enjoy hiking, the coastline for 100 km in both directions is crisscrossed by amazing hiking trails. Other
adventure sports abound: Bungee jumping, scuba diving, mountain biking, white-water canoeing, whatever you care to mention. There are plenty of stables for horse-riding and no less than three
polo-playing grounds. Plett has lots of good quality shops and restaurants. Our house is 50 meters away from a boardwalk that will have you on the beach within 2 minutes. Only 30 km away is Knysna, a
historic town with a huge lagoon separated from the sea by a mountain, and some of the best shopping in the country. If art is your thing, you will be in your element - both Knysna and Plett have
large resident populations of artists whose works are exhibited in galleries in the area as well as internationally. Plett is crammed full of holidaymakers through our high season - which is roughly
beginning December to mid-January, and is best avoided over that time. Out of season it is bliss - the pace is leisurely although it never sleeps as Plett is on the itinerary of every foreign visitor
to South Africa. Our immediate neighbors are all foreigners (UK, USA and France )that fell in love with our little corner of Plett. Both the UK families come over regularly from London. They fly from
Heathrow on the 19:00 flight and arrive in Plett by 12:00 the next day. Websites to visit??http: //www. plettbay. co. za/ ?http: //www. plett. co. za/bay. html ?http: //www. gardenroute.
