The beaches (Ynyslas, Borth, Aberdovey). Mountain biking and hill walking opportunities everywhere! Interesting towns within 6 miles (Machynlleth) and 12 miles (Aberystwyth). Machynlleth has a street market every Wednesday, a Museum of Modern Art, independent shops including many antiques shops, and a leisure centre with swimming pool, fitness classes etc. Aberystwyth is a popular University town on the sea front with promenade, pier, vernicular train to viewpoint and camera obscura, 2 beaches, children's pool on promenade, harbour, castle, parks, independant shops, museum, National Library with exhibitions, large Arts Centre with theatre, cinema, exhibitions etc. The All Wales Coastal Path runs through Aberystwyth, and above our village! There are cycle trails in and near Aberystwyth, and from Dolgellau. Snowdonia national Park is 20 minutes away with Cadair Idris mountain to climb! Plenty of steam train trips in the area too. Opportunities to learn watersports at Borth, a popular surfing spot!
