What you will love about this home

Our stone-built cottage is beautifully located in a very quiet Cotswold village. The house is small but there is a nice lawned garden with a BBQ, Fire Pit, wood-fired pizza oven and plenty of outdoor tables and chairs. We love cooking so while the kitchen is small, it is very well equipped and has a Rayburn stove. There is a log-burning stove in the living room - great for Winter nights. There is a downstairs washroom/loo and a bathroom with a shower/bath upstairs - perfect for a long soak. There are two bedrooms one with a Super King-size bed, the other with a bed that can be set up as a double or two single beds. Although it looks like a period cottage the house is relatively modern and is warm and well-insulated with oil-fired central heating throughout. There is Superfast 76Mb Broadband available wirelessly throughout the house, The house and garden look out over open countryside with sheep and horses. There are great walks from the rear of the house and elsewhere in the village. The village pub is 100 metres away.

What you will love in the neighborhood

The village is very convenient for Moreton in Marsh (2 miles), Chipping Campden (6 miles), Stow on the Wold (6 miles) and Bourton on the water (8miles). Cheltenham and Stratford upon Avon are about 35 minutes away. There is a main line railway service to London from Moreton in Marsh. The Cotswolds are renowned for the beautiful countryside. There are many places to walk and old stone towns and villages to visit. There are many great places to eat and various Golf, Horse Riding and day-fishing facilities close by.

Stratford upon Avon is the birthplace of William Shakespeare and home to the Royal Shakespeare Company. There are regular productions of Shakespeare's plays and other more modern pieces though early booking is strongly recommended. The town itself is a lovely place to visit with great old buildings with bars, restaurants and a lovely park with the river Avon close by for boat trips or a gentle row out of town perhaps for a riverside picnic.

Additional information

Please note that we are only interested in exchanges to rural or coastal locations. Small rural towns may be possible but - NO BIG CITIES!

We know the area well and have plenty of friends in the village so you can take full advantage of local knowledge to find the very best spots to visit during your stay.

We have one dog, a lurcher Rosie. She is very gentle but has full run of the house so if you're in the least bit allergic to dogs or don't like them we are DEFINITELY not the exchange for you. You're welcome to have Rosie stay with you during your stay or we can send her away on holiday. If you're looking to exchange for longer periods or live outside the UK we'd give preference to people who'd like Rosie to stay with them. We'd be happy to look after your dogs or you're welcome to bring them with you by arrangement but please, no aggressive dogs or fighting breeds. Due to allergies we can't accommodate cats. Other animals? Just ask!
