What you will love about this home
We are a retired couple of teachers one an artist. We love to travel and experience most anything. Our home is light and airy and quite large with room for at least 8 people children welcome. We have 5 children and 4 grandchildren , two live in the Island and two live in Rome. They love playing on the beach and crabbing and the older kids love the walks restaurants, boating and visiting London. A big plus is walking out of the house straight down to the sea wall and looking at the water, boats and birds. It is very special.
What you will love in the neighborhood
My house is on a small island famous for boating and oysters. It overlooks the estuary and at high tide the view is stupendous as the water covers the islands and marshes. The island is reached by a causeway that can flood on certain tides enhancing the special feeling of the place. We have famous fish restaurants featured on celebrity chef programmes, walking, bird watching, beach hut, lots of events and music, crabbing , boating, and plain good old fashioned fun at the beach. 5 mins to shops and 50 mins to London. Close to the painter Constable's country Dedham , also 20 mins from Colchester , Britain's oldest recorded town complete with Roman wall and Castle, approx 1 hr from Cambridge and punting on the Cam...and so on. Masses to enjoy and do for adults and kids alike.
