What you will love about this home
``The New Harbour House`` in Bal Harbour is on the beach! Jasmine and I've got a beautiful, direct ocean view from our 1200 square foot (110 square metre) 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment on the 6th floor. [There are 15 storeys in the building.] The developer recently refurbished it and Harbour House now looks like a luxury resort! In fact, The Regent/One Bal Harbour (http://www.wcicommunities.com/default.asp?pageID=home&siteID=47&vid=) is the building next door and Jasmine and I occasionally have lunch at their pool-side café.
As you see in the photos, you open the door to our apartment, look through the dining and living rooms, onto the balcony, and into the ocean! We dine on the balcony as often as possible, under the sun or gazing at the moon and stars, while listening to the ebb-and-flow of the tide. The galley kitchen with a sub-zero refrigerator and granite counter-tops has brand-new stainless steel appliances and includes dishwasher and washer/dryer. The master bedroom has a private bathroom and large closet while the 2nd bedroom we use as an office. In the living room we've got a comfortable sofa-bed. The décor, including the Madagascar giraffes(!), since we moved from Paris in 2008, seems to be a constant work-in-progress. Harbour House has wonderful amenities such as a large pool, jacuzzi, sun deck, outdoor café, fitness centre, sundries market, club room with billiards, ... it's really worth a look, http://www.thenewharbourhouse.com. See you soon!
What you will love in the neighborhood
Jasmine and I live at The New Harbour House (read above or http://www.thenewharbourhouse.com) in beautiful Bal Harbour. The natural surroundings, with direct ocean views, over a 1-mile palm tree-lined promenade toward Surfside, the next village to the south, is inspirational, invigorating, and tranquilising. Surfside has nice shopping and casual dining. The famous ``Bal Harbour Shops`` with its up-market bistros and restaurants are in walking distance. Aventura Mall is a 10-minute drive and South Beach, 20-minutes. You can ride a bicycle all the way along a 10-mile scenic path to Lincoln Road, Collins Avenue and Ocean Drive, and South Pointe. Both Miami International (MIA) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL) airports are an easy 30-minute drive from where we live.
There's a nude beach (Haulover Park) in Sunny Isles, which is just over the bridge from Bal Harbour. Nearby Fort Lauderdale has gay-friendly neighbourhoods such as Emerald Hills and Wilton Manors. Downtown Fort Lauderdale has up-market dining and shopping on Las Olas Boulevard and Lauderdale Beach is 20 miles long. A large, Las Vegas-type casino/entertainment/shopping complex -- The Seminole Hard Rock Café -- is 20 minutes away. That is, on the way to an enormous outlet shopping centre, Sawgrass Mills, which is a 30-minute drive from where we live (just 10 minutes from Hard Rock). Sawgrass Mills also encompasses the luxury shops of the Colonnade.
