What you will love about this home
Our charming home, built in 1902, is a Victorian Twin, located in the heart of the University City Section of Philadelphia, PA. As a part of Philadelphia's original street car suburb, now completely ensconced within the city, our neighborhood is easily accessible to Center City via trolley, a short bike ride, or a healthy walk. Whether you stay within the neighborhood, enjoying cuisine and culture from all over the world, or you decide to head downtown to enjoy the city's many historical and cultural treasures, our house will be a lovely central location from which to experience Philadelphia.
What you will love in the neighborhood
Local 44, a great neighborhood pub serving hand crafted beers and great food.
The University of Pennsylvania, a beautiful Ivy League campus surrounded by high quality shops, restaurants, theaters, and museums.
The Schuylkill River Trail, an ideal place to run, bike, or walk along the banks of the Schuylkill River in one of the most beautiful urban park settings in the US.
Are you looking for a place to stay in Philadelphia during the Pope's visit (Sep 24-28)? Our home is ideal, as it is just outside of the restricted transportation area. You will be able to walk to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway/Cathedral of Sts. Peter and Paul, which is approximately 2.5 to 3 miles away. Do you have a home in the Northeastern US or adjacent Canada, preferably the Adirondacks, Vermont, Northwestern Massachusetts, Ottawa, Montreal, or Quebec City that you would like to swap during this time? Please let me know.
